Nancy's story: Roughneck Gravel Roubaix

BaseCamp athlete Nancy Mizak shared her experience at the 2025 Roughneck Gravel Roubaix in Pennsylvania.

Had a great time perfecting the art of SAILing at the Roughneck Gravel Roubaix today. Weather was more like the end of January vs end of May and when mechanical issues hit I had to make some good decisions when a third of my gears wouldn’t cooperate. Thank goodness for all the wisdom gained at BaseCamp, I was able to calmly think it through and press on with a really good ride. I also had a great time laughing at myself nearly missing a turn my coach had taken the time to review with me and warned me to watch out for….thanks, Liz! Oh, and the cheers from BaseCamp fam Tracy Gravlin and Beth Huffaker while following me on RaceJoy had me cracking up…thanks Team Base Camp! Now to get my Seigla fixed!
