Race day report! So I’ve come to realize I have some serious anxiety surrounding bike races, especially one I DNF last year. As soon as we got to Ketchum, my anxiety skyrocketed, and I was driving my family crazy. So I told myself I could change to the Tater Tot race day, and I did. Honestly best decision for me. This was only my second gravel race ever and my first one to finish. I have no pics because I rode hard the whole time and didn't stop except for a quick pee break, and placed 11th in my age group. It was a huge confidence boost to me to finish a race strong, and now I think with more races between now and next year I will have a lot more confidence. My physical training was fine, I'm sure my body could have completed the French Fry, but my mind needs some work! Next on the docket: 45-mile gravel race in Mammoth Lakes with fellow BaseCamper Karen Schad, and thanks to RPI I'm feeling good about it instead of anxious!!
