Cycling disciplines:

Road, mountain bike, cyclocross

I began my cycling career at age 13 and have raced ever since. Initially I focused on mountain bike racing, but after moving to Austin to attend the University of Texas, I began road racing, and when relocated to the northwest, I branched into cyclocross, as well. My interest in coaching began after following a structured training program for the first time; in one season I progressed from expert to professional and finished the year with a 13th place finish at Mountain Bike Nationals. I'm currently a category 2 road racer and professional mountain bike racer balancing training with the "real world" of life and parenting. I've finished on the podium in events ranging from criteriums to marathon mountain bike races.

I'm a USA Cycling Level 1 and power-certified coach, and I've earned USA Cycling's "Coach with Distinction" the last two years for a commitment to continuing education. I've had the pleasure of coaching multiple masters national champions, as well as elite athletes, to podium finishes. I believe that any athlete, even those with limited time, can see significant improvement with focused training.

Athlete Testimonials

Brig is awesome. I really like his style of coaching. The winter training Base Camp is now a 16 week adventure I look forward to every winter. Keep up the good work. I've learned so much these past three Base Camp seasons of training.  - Michelle N

Brig has been great - always taking the time to educate me. He makes himself available outside of scheduled meetings if anything comes up or I have a question that needs answering. I appreciate his ability to translate some of the wonky information into digestible bites for a newbie like me!  - Kathleen K
