BaseCamp alumnus Jonathon Fowles shares his experience at the 2022 Nova Scotia provincial championship.
Finally had something of significance to report…other than getting COVID and taking a month to recover and having three 4th place finishes this summer, I placed 3rd in our Nova Scotia provincial championship B division. A big thank you to the BaseCamp team for the training through the winter and learning how to recover from COVID appropriately, and to Serena Bishop Gordon for her coaching tips for my racing. It was satisfying to finally get on the podium after missing out the first three races...but funny story is I went home (to get back to my kids) thinking I placed 4th again but was advised via Strava feed comments that I actually was 3rd and missed the medal ceremony on the podium! But I was rocking the Team BaseCamp kit, so I thought I would share…
